Hosted Domains
The SERPInsight Reverse IP Domain Finder
The Reverse IP Domain Finder is a critical reconnaissance tool for technical SEO professionals and security researchers. By querying A records, it reveals all domain names hosted on a single web server or IP address.
Developed by SERPInsight, this utility helps you uncover shared hosting neighborhoods, identify Private Blog Network (PBN) footprints, and assess the reputational risk of server environments before migrating your sites.
How it works
-
1
Input Domain or IP
Enter a website URL or a direct IP address into the search bar. We automatically resolve domains to their server IP.
-
2
Wait for Server Query
Our backend securely queries global DNS databases to find all indexed A records associated with the target IP.
-
3
Review & Export Footprints
Browse the paginated list of domains, analyze the Top-Level Domains (TLDs), and export the data to CSV for further auditing.
Understanding the Metrics
The absolute number of domain names sharing the exact same IP address. High numbers indicate cheap shared hosting or parking servers.
The resolved IPv4 address of the target server. If you entered a domain name, this shows the underlying server identity powering that site.
The count of different Top-Level Domains (like .com, .net, .ru) on the server. A high concentration of obscure TLDs can sometimes signal a spam network.
Optimization & Security Guide
Key Concepts
- Bad Neighborhoods: Search engines can occasionally associate IP addresses with spam. Sharing an IP with malicious sites might hurt your deliverability or trust.
- PBN Detection: Private Blog Networks often use cheap shared hosting. Finding a cluster of highly interlinked sites on one IP is a major SEO red flag.
- Corporate Recon: Discovering all domains a competitor owns by checking the IP of their primary corporate website.
Best Practices
- Use Dedicated IPs: For critical enterprise sites, use a dedicated IP address to isolate your reputation from other webmasters.
- Audit Backlinks: If you are buying a site or analyzing a backlink profile, ensure the referring domains aren't all hosted on the identical IP block.
- Verify CDNs: Remember that sites behind Cloudflare or Fastly will show the CDN's IP, not the origin server. Reverse IP on CDNs will return millions of unrelated domains.
